🧵Practical Sewing Workshop: The Art of Hemming

Discover the techniques for creating beautiful, professional-looking hems in this hands-on sewing workshop! Participants will learn and practice three popular hemming styles while gaining the skills and confidence to choose the right finish for a variety of sewing projects. All supplies will be provided at the workshop!

In this workshop, you will:

Learn and practice three essential hemming techniques:

• Invisible Hem – Hand-sewn for a nearly invisible finish
• Rolled Hem – Machine-sewn for a neat, finished edge
• Double-Fold Hem – A versatile technique for a clean, durable finish

Practice using hem lace and hem tape as additional hemming options.

Explore when and where to use each technique, including a discussion of suitable fabrics, garments, and applications.

Get personalized hemming advice! Participants are welcome to bring an item that needs hemming. Instructors will offer their advice on the best technique to achieve the desired result.

Whether you're looking to improve your sewing skills, tackle simple clothing alterations, or add a polished touch to your projects, this practical workshop will help you master essential hemming techniques you can use again and again!

This workshop is an intermediate level in the sense that participants must have sewing experience and must be able to sew a straight line.
