This program is a guided winter day hike to Esther Mountain (elevation 4240’). This hike is 6.2 miles round-trip with 2754’ of elevation gain.
Please plan on meeting at the Adirondack Chocolates parking lot in Wilmington NY by 7:30am. Please arrive packed and ready to hike. After caravanning to the trailhead, we'll go through introductions, a trip overview, and an information briefing. We will then embark on our journey to this summit. The trip will be led by a member of ADK’s professional guide staff team. All ADK professional guides are New York State licensed guides, Wilderness First Responders, and Leave No Trace instructors.
This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Please review our Essential Eligibility Criteria to understand the fundamental requirements for joining an ADK trip. ADK reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual's participation. Prior snowshoeing and High Peaks hiking experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper clothing, and proper equipment are a must.
