Hurricane Mountain Winter Hike

This program is a guided winter day hike to Hurricane Mountain (elevation 3694'). This hike is 6.8 miles round-trip with 2,000' of elevation gain.
Please plan on arriving at the Hurricane Mountain trailhead on NYS Route 9N at 8:00 a.m. After arriving at the trailhead, we'll go through introductions, a trip overview, and an information briefing. We will then embark on our journey to the fire tower summit. The trip will be led by a member of ADK’s professional guide staff team. All ADK professional guides are New York State licensed guides, Wilderness First Responders, and Leave No Trace instructors.
This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Please review our Essential Eligibility Criteria to understand the fundamental requirements for joining an ADK trip. ADK reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual's participation. Prior snowshoeing and High Peaks hiking experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper clothing, and proper equipment are a must.
