This program is a guided day hike to Phelps Mountain (elevation 4161’). This hike is 8.8 miles round-trip with 2292' of elevation gain. Parking is included for program participants.
Please plan on meeting on the Adirondak Loj porch by 7:30 a.m. Please arrive packed and ready to hike. After meeting, we'll go through introductions, a trip overview, and information briefing. We will then embark on our journey to the summit. The trip will be led by a member of ADK’s professional guide staff team. All ADK professional guides are New York State licensed guides, Wilderness First Responders, and Leave No Trace instructors.
This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Please review our Essential Eligibility Criteria to understand the fundamental requirements for joining an ADK trip. ADK reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual's participation. Prior snowshoeing and High Peaks hiking experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper clothing, and proper equipment are a must.
