Wintering Well ❤️

A Creative Wellbeing Workshop | 2.5 hours

Join us for a relaxed, uplifting and informative session exploring how we can look after our physical and emotional wellbeing during the winter months.

As the days get shorter and colder, it’s particularly important to look after ourselves, stay active and connected, and find simple ways to maintain a positive outlook.

During this session, we’ll explore some practical ways to support our wellbeing, including:

* Understanding the winter blues and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): How reduced daylight can affect our mood, energy and sleep, and what we can do to help.
* The benefits of getting outdoors: How walking, natural daylight and spending time in nature can support our physical and mental health.
* Simple breathing and relaxation techniques: Practical exercises to help manage stress, anxiety and feelings of overwhelm.
* Mindfulness and positive thinking: Simple ways to slow down, be present and appreciate the little things.
* The importance of staying connected: How friendships, social activities and community connections can help reduce loneliness and support healthy ageing.

We’ll then put some of these ideas into practice through a creative activity, making our own Joy Journal – a personal collection of all the things that help us feel good.

Using words, doodles, colour and collage, we’ll explore four areas:

1. Things that lift my mood – what makes me smile, laugh or feel happy?
2. Things that nourish my body – what helps me feel energised, comfortable and well?
3. Things that feed my soul – what makes me feel peaceful, inspired or connected?
4. People and places that make me feel good – who do I enjoy spending time with and where do I feel most myself?

We’ll finish by making a little promise to ourselves, identifying one thing we’d like to make more time for this winter.

Everyone will take home their own Joy Journal – a positive, personal wellbeing resource to revisit and add to throughout the season, helping to build small, sustainable habits that support happiness and healthier living.

This is a free session funded by Point North through the Enriching Later Lives Fund, supporting opportunities that help people improve their wellbeing, maintain social connections, reduce isolation and enjoy healthier, happier lives as they age.
