Steering The Show Workshop

Bring the hype and run the room!

In this workshop, students will master the art of hosting unforgettable improv. Learn how to warm up a quiet crowd, pull great suggestions, deal with disruptions, and develop your own host persona. We will cover how to seamlessly add to the fun without stealing focus, keep transitions tight, and make your audience feel like they are right in the center of the action. A skilled host transforms a great night of improv into an immersive and magical experience that transforms audience members into fans who cannot wait to come again.

*As we recognize that people take improv classes for a vast variety of reasons - including overcoming anxiety - the Student Showcase is optional, but highly recommended.

We encourage online payments and registrations through this portal, but we are committed to making this class accessible. If you need a payment plan or wish to discuss alternative options, please contact us at CSzBoise@gmail.com.

  1. Cancellations: Classes may be canceled if minimum enrollment requirements are not met. Full refunds are only issued if the class is canceled by us.
  2. Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued after the first day of class. Refunds requested prior to the first day are subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
  3. Class Environment: Our goal is to make classes rewarding, safe, and fun for everyone. To maintain a highly focused environment, our classes are generally closed to outside observers. However, for our youth programs, if a student feels more comfortable having their adult present on the first day, you are welcome to stay for the first 20 minutes—just be prepared to participate! If needed for any of our classes, we can also arrange a tour of the building or an opportunity to meet the teacher before the session begins. Just reach out at the time of enrollment. We've been called one of the "8 Great Comedy Schools from Around the Nation" by Paste Magazine. We're dedicated to making you feel welcome.
  4. Behavior & Participation: To keep the room safe and collaborative, we reserve the right to immediately remove any student from the program for a single egregious act, or if their behavior becomes continuously disruptive to the ensemble, with no refunds provided. (For youth classes, parents or caregivers will be contacted to address general behavioral concerns before any removal takes place).

Pricing Philosophy: We believe improv changes lives, and we want our classrooms full to maximize our impact! That is why we offer as many enrollment options as possible. Whether it is through flexible payment arrangements, reduced overall tuition, or finding a creative trade that works for you - WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK. Please choose the registration option that genuinely reflects your current financial situation, no questions asked. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
