This training provides attendees with the tools to begin conducting culturally responsive trauma assessments. Participants will learn to assess adult clients for a childhood history of abuse and neglect. In addition, trauma that is not related to child abuse is covered. Attendees will gain the skills to diagnose psycho-social stressors, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and other trauma related disorders.

Describe methods for assessing childhood experiences of sexual, physical, verbal abuse and neglect in adult
clients.
Explain the essential elements of providing culturally responsive psychological trauma assessments.
Explain how culture impacts the way in which the evaluator conceptualizes, diagnoses, and interacts with
the client.
Describe methods for assessing non-abuse related psychological trauma.
Demonstrate methods for utilizing semi-structured assessment techniques to conduct culturally responsive
trauma assessments.
Summarize the criteria and appropriate techniques for diagnosing Acute Stress Disorder & (PTSD) according
to DSM 5 criteria.
