Hi! I’m Shiloh Kaneshiro, an active storyteller and filmmaker. This semester, I’m partnering with HEARTS to launch an online filmmaking class open to all students grades 7-12. As an aspiring storyteller and filmmaker myself, I know it seems stressful and overwhelming to make a film. That is why I’ve created a class that will put you with a hands-on, step-by-step game plan so that you can create a professional film with no experience or expensive equipment required. If you join this class, you’ll be able to tell the stories you want to tell without the stress and anxiety of doing it all on your own. If you are a student interested in filmmaking yourself, or a parent of an aspiring filmmaker, this is going to be the class to take. If you or your child want to get the stories from their head onto the screen, I will take you through every single step in the filmmaking process: brainstorming, screenwriting, filming, editing, all of it. You won’t just be learning, you will also be creating. As we go through this process, you’ll be applying it to your very own film! Plus, you’ll be in a class with students just like you, and you can be a part of the helpful, supportive community as we all learn together. If you take this filmmaking class, you’ll walk away with a short film fully-produced and completed by you, storytelling and technical expertise in the industry, and the next steps you need to take to continue your filmmaking journey.
