This four-week class will introduce students to some of the beginning foundations of drawing; basic techniques, quieting the mind, and looking closely. Artist and art educator Sarah Rydecki will provide a peaceful and supportive environment that promotes positivity and silencing the inner critic. If you took this class in 2023, we highly encourage you to join us again!

Week 1: Playful mark-making and finding flow.

Week 2: The 5 elements of contour shape and drawing what is seen.

Week 3: Drawing for realism; gesture, contour, and shading.

Week 4: Drawing from a personal still life or photograph

Supplies included. Members $95, non-members $110, full and partial fee-waivers available based on need, no one turned away for inability to pay fee.
