The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 has been introduced and will require certain premises and events to introduce additional measures to protect the public. Whilst this legislation will not be in effect until 2027, organisations can start to prepare.

The publicly available guidance on risk assessment for terrorism has based its risk methodology on International Standards such as ISO 45001 (health and safety), ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 41001 (facilities management) and ISO 31000 (risk management).

One of the key steps to identifying risks is to first understand the context of the organisation, premises or event.

In this live, interactive session, learners will:

Understand the context of the organisation in relation to premises and / or events aligned to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, associated factsheets and guidance documents and relevant International Standards as a framework.
Consider who their interested parties are and what their needs and expectations are (this will include a consideration of those with hostile intent)
Have the opportunity to interact with other participants
Begin to document their context
Have the opportunity to submit their documented context for feedback
Better understand how their own organisation operates, which in turn will facilitate better identification and mitigation of risks.

This session will help anyone who is starting to think about how Martyn's Law will apply to their organisation, and is an essential step for anyone looking to implement ISO 45001 (health and safety), ISO 27001 (information security) and / or ISO 22301 (business continuity) Standards.

The approach taken in the course will enable learners to demonstrate suitable knowledge of Clause 4 of the relevant Standards they wish to implement, and will be suitable for third party United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited Certification Body assessment in relation to Clause 4.
