This training is intended for direct support staff based at community/nonprofit service providers who assist survivors in completing orders of protection and are seeking firearms relief as part of an order of protection process. This training is recommended as the final step in the training series, once staff have a foundation level understanding of firearms laws, safety planning considerations and a broader understanding of available firearms relief available under Illinois law. Part of this training covers completing court documents and tips on what to include when working with clients to request firearms relief under Karina's law.
