We believe in the words of Declaration of Independence where it says that everyone has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Part of those rights include the ability to defend those rights.

Recent events in our nation have led many of our friends and family in your community to express concern for their safety and a desire to feel confident in their skills with personal defense. As a result, we are offering this class as an private event to your community as an opportunity to learn, train, and develop skills that will improve your confidence and ability to feel and stay safe in what seems like uncertain times.

This training event will open with an in depth explanation on what a lifestyle of safety looks like in both owning and handling firearms as well as how to avoid the need to engage in self-defense situations through awareness and avoidance.

Your certified instructor will provide a period of instruction on common defensive firearms to give the students a better understanding of the tools and how they operate. This portion of the class is designed in such a way to demystify guns and remove some of the initial fears many people have regarding guns and their use. Students will have an opportunity to handle many different guns in a safe environment with no live fire.

After a break for lunch, students will move from the classroom to the range where they will be exposed to more hands-on training with a variety of handguns. After an extensive training exposure to the operation of the guns functionality without any live ammunition, those who feel comfortable moving into live fire will be provided with ammunition to expand their training experience.

Students won’t need to already own a gun or bring one with them to class. Cohutta Pines is glad to provide a variety of training guns and ammunition for all attendees.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch with them as options off the range are limited and not geographically convenient to the range.
