Course Overview: In this beginner-friendly basketry workshop, you will step into an age-old craft rooted in everyday life. Create your own flat-bottom square basket, a classic utility piece made to carry, gather, store and serve, while also being a beautifully handcrafted piece you will proudly display. You will be guided step by step through the full basket-making process as you create your own square market basket, approximately 8” x 8”, using natural and hand-dyed reed. As your basket takes shape, you will learn essential weaving techniques and practical skills you need to continue with this craft.

This course takes place at the Port Hope Campus: 10 Pine St S, Port Hope, ON L1A 3E7
Campus information, including room number, parking, directions, etc., will be provided closer to the start date.
A refund (less $20.00 administrative fee) will be issued if you withdraw from a class 14 days before the start date of the class. After this deadline, no refunds will be issued.
If a course is cancelled by Loyalist College, registered students will be provided with a full refund. College decisions to cancel a course will be made 14-days before the class start date.
