Join us for 3 hours of instruction in how best to take and (for the belayer) to catch lead-falls. A lot happens in a very short time during a fall, so we’ll start small and try to break that ~1 second event down bit by bit, showing you how and where to relax to make it a much more comfortable and less scary experience than your brain is telling you it is.By the end of the session your heebee jeebees will be all gone, I promise!

Who is this for?

Anyone looking to further their lead climbing skills or finds themselves not prepared to push their grades for fear of falling.

What will we learn?

We run through the following skills, continually refining them until they are committed to (muscle) memory:

Belayer Skills:

Catching leader falls (small to large)
Feet position on the ground, on the wall

Climber skills:

Taking a leader-fall (we start small, don’t worry!)

Prerequisites

Must have a gym lead pass, must have padded harness within manufacturers specifications. I can provide ropes and belay devices if you don’t have your own.
