Whether you're new to carrying a handgun or you've been training for years, this class meets you exactly where you are and helps you get meaningfully better—fast. We keep class sizes small and the approach deeply personal. Right from the start, your instructor runs a quick diagnostic to assess your current skill level, strengths, and priorities. From there, the entire session is customized: extra time on rock-solid fundamentals for newer shooters, or advanced techniques for those ready to push their limits. Everyone gets individualized feedback and real-time coaching. This isn’t a rigid, checklist curriculum—it’s flexible and adaptable to each student.

Required Materials for Custom Defensive Pistol

To get the most out of your training day, please bring the following items. Everything should be in good working order—we'll inspect gear at the start for safety.

Firearm & Ammunition

Reliable defensive handgun (semi-auto or revolver; your everyday carry gun is ideal - and preferred!)
A minimum of 350–400 rounds of quality ammunition (factory new recommended; no reloads for safety reasons)
At least 3 magazines (or speedloaders for revolvers) – more is better for fewer interruptions

Holster & Support Gear

Strong-side holster (outside or inside waistband; must securely retain the gun and allow one-handed reholstering) IWB or AIWB allowed
Sturdy belt or method that supports your holster and mag pouches
Magazine pouch or carrier (at least 2 magazines accessible)
Concealment garment (e.g., jacket, vest, or cover shirt) if you plan to practice concealed draws

Protective & Comfort Items

Electronic ear protection (preferred) or quality ear plugs
Wrap-around eye protection (clear lenses; must be rated ANSI Z87.1 or higher)
Billed hat or cap (helps keep hot brass off your head)
Closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)
Weather-appropriate clothing (range can be hot/cold; avoid low-cut shirts to prevent brass burns)
Note-taking materials (pen and notepad or phone for personal notes)

Optional but Recommended

Snacks, water bottle, etc (we'll have breaks, but stay hydrated)
Cleaning kit or basic tools (in case of minor issues)

Important Notes

The range requires that all attendees complete their waiver online prior to attending. All gear must meet safety standards—no serpa-style holsters or trigger-exposing designs.
If renting a firearm or buying ammo on-site, contact us in advance for availability.
Ammo and gear can be purchased at many ranges if needed—just plan ahead.
