Join fellow nature lovers as you learn to create pastel landscapes in a welcoming, step-by-step environment. No previous pastel experience is required, just a love of nature and a place you’d like to remember. Throughout the course, you’ll develop a landscape from initial thumbnail sketches through composition, under painting, color selection, layering, and finishing techniques while learning how pastels capture the rich colors, textures, and atmosphere of the natural world.

The class emphasizes the creative process rather than a perfect end result, encouraging you to explore, experiment, and build confidence with each stage of your work. Along the way, you’ll develop skills and techniques in your own pastel practice.

Required Materials and Tools

All materials and tools are provided.
Students are welcome to bring their favorite pastels, paper, or sketchbook.
Students should bring one or more photographs to use as reference.
