Skills We Will Learn Together

Core acting skills: spontaneity, character, emotion, status, and responding to offers.
Introduction to physical comedy and clowning.
Short-form improvisation and scene work with peers.
Character creation through collaborative exercises.
Story-building with a focus on comedic conflict and clear scene premises.
Comedy tools: heightening, exaggeration, objectives, obstacles, POV, breaking expectations, and timing.
Developing reflective practice through feedback and guided discussion with the teaching artist.
Practice newly learned and developed skills in an end of day showing for family and friends.

Age: Students in School Years 7-9 in 2026

Duration: Approximately 20mins.

Cost

This is a free course, however, fees will be applied for late pick up. Please pick up your student promptly or inform the office if they are ok to make their own way home.
