The Sacred Pause: Journey Within

A Deep Midwinter Writing & Meditation Retreat

January 22, 4 pm – January 24, 2 pm 2027
Richmond Hill · Richmond, Virginia
with Shey Khandro & Valley Jane
Limited to 12 participants

A gentle invitation to pause

In the depth of winter, when the natural world grows quiet and the land rests beneath the cold, we invite you to rest, too.

To step away from the busyness of daily life.

To set down what you have been carrying.

To give yourself the gift of a true pause.

You do not need to arrive with a meditation practice, a writing project, or a particularly peaceful mind. Come as you are—tired, full, curious, uncertain, or simply longing for a little more room inside your life.

We will begin there, together.

Over this intimate weekend, Shey will guide us into meditation and contemplative practice, creating space to become quiet enough to listen.

Valley will offer expressive writing practices that help us arrive in the present moment, and begin to find healing on the page.

Around and between these practices, there will be room for silence, shared meals, gentle ritual, rest, meaningful conversation, and unhurried time in Richmond Hill’s contemplative gardens and on its labyrinth.

This is a space held with care, where there is nothing to perform, produce, or figure out.

A chance to journey within—in community, with spaciousness, curiosity, and compassion.
