Exploring Art - Mural Edition - Term 4 2026

Tuesdays | 6:30pm - 8:30pm | 8 Weeks

Take your creative practice to the next level in this inspiring and welcoming art course with accomplished artist and tutor Valentine Venimore.

Exploring Art is designed for adults who are ready to build on their existing skills, experiment with new ideas, and develop their own artistic voice. Drawing inspiration from well-known artists, you'll explore a variety of themes, subjects, mediums, and techniques while creating original artworks of your own.

This special Mural Edition will also include the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative mural project that will be showcased as part of our NGĀ ART end-of-year celebrations.

Whether you enjoy landscapes, figures, abstract work, or something entirely your own, this course provides both the guidance and creative freedom to help you grow. Valentine will meet you where you are in your artistic journey, supporting you to learn new techniques, strengthen your existing skills, and gain confidence in your creative expression.

Join a community of like-minded creatives in a warm, friendly environment where exploration, learning, and artistic growth are encouraged.

As a not-for-profit organisation, NGĀ ART (Te Whare Toi o Ngaaruawaahia) relies on grants, community funding, and donations to keep our classes affordable and accessible for everyone in our community. This programme is generously subsidised thanks to funding support from TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy and numeracy needs of our participants. You must attend 80% of the classes. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
