If you’ve ever said, “I’ve always wanted to try that!” this is the perfect place to begin. Get a feel for the pottery wheel in this one-night, 2 hour class. Do it with a friend and make it a date, or meet new friends. Learn to center, open, and pull clay to create simple forms. Build one or two small wheel-thrown pieces and have a memorable hands-on experience with clay. We’ll do the glazing after bisque firing; your fired, finished pieces are a bonus!

Highlights:

An introduction to working with clay and to exploring the process of wheel-thrown pottery
Skilled instruction to guide you from prepping the clay to building a small work of art
Two-hour session
Clay and tools provided
Select your own glaze colors
Have a great time!

Please Note:

Tuition is due with registration unless other arrangements are made. If you cancel 0-7 days before the class start date, we are able to refund your tuition ONLY if we can fill your space from our waitlist. We are not able to issue partial refunds or transfer your registration to another class. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we cannot under ANY circumstances refund your tuition once you have started the classes.
Art is a messy business! Please bring an apron or wear work clothes and shoes that can get dirty with clay/paint/etc.
Bring a hair tie if you have long hair.
Leave your rings, smartwatches, and jewelry at home. Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
We ask that you pick up your pots within 2 weeks of your notification that they're ready. We have so many classes that our space can get quite full with students' work! Any pots left behind after 2 weeks without prior arrangements will be added to our "Adopt a Pot" shelf in our main gallery space.
This is a wheel-only course. If you're interested in working with clay slabs or hand-building, check our our other options in ceramics!

Thank you for registering!

All workshops are held at Main Exhibit Gallery’s fully-accessible Art Center.

Entrance located at the lower level rear of the building at 301 West Main Street, Ligonier, PA.
