UvA Connects: Join De Nieuwe Mensa for a fun evening with the community.

Enjoy plant-based food, unwind with like-minded people

Try delicious plant-based food, meet like-minded people, contribute to a community plant-based recipe book and unwind together at Café de Krater! Share your favourite plant-based recipes and get creative with recipe cards that will later be shared on De Nieuwe Mensa’s social media.

About this student community

De Nieuwe Mensa is a student-led, non-profit canteen making affordable, healthy and sustainable food accessible to UvA students. Serving exclusively plant-based meals, the initiative puts students before profit while ensuring fair wages for its cooks. At its heart is a simple belief: good food should be available to everyone.

This event is part of UvA Connects 2026.
