NOTE: This course will be facilitated live online during the scheduled date and time using Zoom. Access to a computer, webcam, microphone and reliable internet connection is needed in order to participate and complete this course. Enrolled students will be emailed a link to the virtual classroom and the student materials the day before the course start date.

The 2020-2021 BICUP course is a four (4) hour course that must be completed by all non-provisional brokers who have current BIC or BIC-Eligible status and who wish to renew their licenses on active status on July 1, 2021, for the 2020-2021 license year. Refer to Commission Rules 58A .1702 and 58A .1703 for a full explanation of brokers’ annual continuing education requirements and continuing education required for license activation. Brokers-in-charge and brokers with BIC-Eligible status must take the BICUP course each year to maintain BIC-Eligible status, as prescribed by Commission Rules 58A .1702 and 58A .0110

This year’s update consists of the following sections:

  • Fair Housing
  • Contracts
  • Cybersecurity
  • Provisional Brokers on a Team
  • Law and Rule Updates
  • Licensing and Education

Please note the following important CE guidelines:

Licensees must complete eight (8) hours per year of continuing education (CE) in order to renew your license on active status. Four (4) of the required CE credit hours must be obtained by completing the Mandatory Update course either in the classroom or via a live virtual class online.

The remaining four (4) CE credit hours may be obtained by taking an elective course in the classroom or online. Please see our schedule at www.goschool.biz for a complete list of online and in-person elective courses (NCREC approved) that will fulfill this remaining 4 hour CE requirement.

Students may roll over a maximum of 4 elective credit hours to the following year.

Licensees must attend 90% of the scheduled hours of the CE course and comply with student participating standards in order to receive credit for the course. Anyone arriving late 24 minutes or more will not be admitted to the class.

Upon completing the class, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your records. Go School will report the course completion to the NCREC within 7 days. You do not need to take any action to report the completion to the NCREC.

CE course enrollments are non-refundable. Students may transfer their enrollment to a future course date as long as it’s done before the start of the course.
