CE Combo: GENUP & elective topic, Red Flags: Property Inspection Guide

Complete both your annual GENUP (General Update for non-BICs) and an elective course on the same day and save $$$! This combination includes the elective course, Red Flags: Property Inspection Guide.

NOTE: This course will be facilitated live online using the Zoom platform during the scheduled date/time. Each student will need access to a computer, webcam and reliable internet connection in order to participate and earn credit for the course. Each enrolled student will be emailed a link to the virtual classroom and student materials the day before the course begins.

This year’s annual GENUP covers the following topics:

  • Fair Housing
  • Contracts
  • Cybersecurity
  • Law and Rule Updates
  • Licensing and Education

Any licensee who is BIC eligible or an active BIC should take the BICUP course and not the GENUP course.

The elective course, Red Flags: Property Inspection Guide, emphasizes how brokers and agents who understand and comply with disclosure laws stand a better chance of avoiding legal liability or a sale falling through. Limit personal risk by being better informed of what to look for and how to correctly respond to the finding. Specific areas of concentration during this course: Red Flags, What Are They and What Causes Them; Observing Red Flags Outside of the House; Observing Red Flags Inside of the House; and, Red Flags Associated with Environmental Hazards and Hazardous Materials.

Important guidelines regarding CE:

Licensees must complete eight (8) hours per year of continuing education (CE) in order to renew your license on active status. Four (4) of the required CE credit hours must be obtained by completing the Mandatory Update course. The Mandatory Update (GENUP) course or the BIC Annual Review (BICAR, BIC status only) must be taken in a classroom and is not available online.

The remaining four (4) CE credit hours may be obtained by taking an elective course in the classroom or online. Please see our schedule at www.goschool.biz for a complete list of online and in-person elective courses (NCREC approved) that will fulfill this remaining 4 hour CE requirement.

Students may roll over a maximum of 4 elective credit hours to the following year.

Licensees must attend at least 90% of a CE course and comply with student participating standards in order to receive credit for the course.

Upon completing the class, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your records. Go School will report the course completion to the NCREC within 7 days. You do not need to take any action to report the completion to the NCREC.

There are no refunds issued for CE courses. Students may move enrollment to a future date within the same year as long as this is done prior to the start date of their original enrollment.
