A Lotte Horses

Our Jr Apprentices are at the heart of learning at the ranch and regularly ride twice in a day.

This is a specialized program currently entering its third year. 

For skill development and progression, we highly recommend at least 2 days attendance.

Jr Apprentices can reschedule their days when needed with 48hrs notice.

Our Jr Apprentices are:

• Good riders who want to become great riders
• Communicative and helpful to other riders
• Interested in learning about & assisting with horse training
• Available to volunteer
• Able to complete tasks as assigned, reporting back as appropriate.
• Age 9+, Proficient at walk, trot, canter, bridling

Skills and Areas of learning

• Communication, autonomy & teamwork
• Horse riding, ground work, lunging & turnouts
• Presentation & research skills
• Grooming - bathing, mane pulling, braiding, bridle paths and more
• Assisting with retraining our rescue horses (may include riding suitable mounts)
• Tack Cleaning & Maintenance
• Horse first aid
• Horse & human anatomy
  

Core Hours 8:45am-2pm $95/day - flexible end time, between 2-4pm.

• 8:45am-2pm Tuesday
• 8:45am-2pm Wednesday
• 8:45am-2pm Thursday
• Includes riding lessons and apprentice skills training time

Special events, to be determined.

Talk to Lotte or Sushila to determine if you are ready to participate as a Jr Apprentice.

Payments

• $450 is required to reserve a spot. The balance is payable in monthly instalments.

NOTE: If paying by instalments, a late fee of $50 will be charged if payments are not made by the due date.
