Course Overview:

This immersive 1-day class introduces students to the principles and applications of 360° Close Quarters Defense (CQD), formerly known as the Center Axis Relock (CAR) System. Designed for law enforcement, military, and civilian defenders, this course emphasizes versatility, speed, and precision in close-quarters engagements. Students will develop a tactical mindset and refine their firearms handling through Jeff Johnsgaard’s proven methodologies, blending foundational techniques with cutting-edge innovations.

What You’ll Learn:

CQD Fundamentals:

• Historical roots of the CAR System and its evolution into 360 CQD.
• Stance, grip, and dynamic positioning for maximum control and efficiency.

360° Engagement Techniques:

• Target acquisition and transitioning between threats in any direction.
• Effective use of both dominant and non-dominant hands in live-fire scenarios.

Movement & Situational Awareness:

• Tactical footwork for maintaining stability and control under stress.
• Managing multiple angles of attack in confined environments.

Stress Management & Real-World Application:

• Drills designed to inoculate stress and enhance performance in high-pressure situations.
• Practical applications for law enforcement, personal defense, and active shooter scenarios.

• Prerequisites: Proficient firearm handling experience (ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE VETTED BEFORE CLASS).

Gear Requirements:

• Semi-automatic pistol with at least three magazines.
• Holster, magazine pouch, and eye/ear protection.
• 500 rounds of ammunition.
• Comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
