Contemporary Kete

Forget all your notions of a traditional flax kete - let loose and create something new and unique! Contemporary Māori artists often incorporate kete (bags/baskets) into their work using traditional weaving techniques with modern materials or colours.

In this fun 2 hour workshop, let's get creative and use non-traditional materials such as cable ties and gutter mesh to create a kete bag you can wear on your arm, or hang on your wall or window for decoration.

Suitable for Ages 9+ Years
