Course Facilitation Method:

  • Live, online via the Zoom platform during the scheduled dates/times.
  • Participants will need to have access to a computer, webcam, microphone and reliable internet connection.
  • Participants will need to be visible and engaged on camera during instruction time. Distractive multitasking, including driving, is not permitted when connected to the virtual classroom.
  • A link to the virtual classroom and student materials will be emailed to each enrolled student the day before the class begins.

  • This course will meet online each Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am - 1:30pm, for a total of 6 class sessions.
  • Breaks are provided throughout each class session.
  • The proctored course exam will be administered online on the last class session of the schedule. Online attendance is critical.

Attendance:

  • Per NCREC rules, participants must attend at least 90% of this 30-hour course in order to receive course completion credit.
  • Students missing more than 3 hours are ineligible for course completion credit.
  • Time missed cannot be made up.

Cancellation:

  • Students needing to withdraw their enrollment must do so 48-hours prior to the course start date in order to receive a refund.
  • A $75 cancellation fee will apply.
  • Students may transfer their enrollment to a future course rather than cancelling. Any difference in the tuition fee may be owed.
  • Go School reserves the right to cancel an upcoming course due to instructor availability or low enrollment. In such cases a full refund is issued to the student or the student may also transfer their enrollment to a future course.

Note:

  • On your enrollment form you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in this single post-licensing course, or, select the three course package for a considerable discount if you need to enroll in all three required post-licensing courses. All three Post-Licensing courses must be completed within 18-months of your license being issued.

Course Description:

The Contracts & Closing course is one of the three 30-instructional hour courses in the North Carolina mandatory Post-Licensing education program. The primary objective of the PL courses is to provide instruction at a level beyond that provided in Pre-Licensing courses on topics deemed to be of special importance in the active practice of real estate brokerage. Topics addressed in this course include: 
  • selected basic contract law concepts,
  • real estate sales contract preparation,
  • sales contract procedures,
  • buyer’s due diligence,
  • closing procedures,
  • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act,
  • closing disclosure preparation,
  • contracts for deed, options, and
  • selected real estate license status and education issues.
