Intermediate (Standard) First Aid Level C (St. John Ambulance)

This is a classroom-based 2-day St. John Ambulance-certified course in Intermediate First Aid (previously called Standard First Aid).

Level C means you will learn how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants.

The course combines theory and hands-on exercises to teach you the skills you need to preserve life and prevent further injury. More than half the class time is for hands-on practice of first aid skills, so you will leave our course able to perform practical first aid in emergency situations for casualties of all ages. This Intermediate First Aid course is suitable for people who can’t rely on ambulance services within 20 minutes of a 911 call, or who may have to transport a casualty to allow for ambulance access.

The instructor was very confident, knowledgeable, and straight to the point. She ran the course in a clear and professional way, kept everyone focused, and explained things in a way that actually made sense. The class was informative, practical, and never boring. I learned a lot of important first aid skills and really appreciated her direct approach and sense of humour. Overall, a great course and a great instructor.

The instructor Kate was by far the best first aid instructor I’ve been to yet. When she discusses all the different scenarios where people have been injured, you can tell it’s coming from real life experiences .Kate has a common sense approach to teaching students in class, which is refreshing for a change. When she’s teaching, not everything is coming from a text book, it was a really good experience.
