Personalized Defensive Handgun Training
Your Skills. Your Pace. Your Goals.
Custom Defensive Pistol is built around you. Whether you're new to carrying a handgun or you've been training for years, this class meets you exactly where you are and helps you get meaningfully better—fast. We keep class sizes small and the approach deeply personal. Right from the start, your instructor runs a quick diagnostic to assess your current skill level, strengths, and priorities. From there, the entire session is customized: extra time on rock-solid fundamentals for newer shooters, or advanced techniques for those ready to push their limits. Everyone gets individualized feedback and real-time coaching. This isn’t a rigid, checklist curriculum—it’s flexible and adaptable to each student.
What Sets This Class Apart
- Truly individualized coaching—no “one size fits all” pace
- Immediate feedback and real-time adjustments to your skill development
- Emphasis on the skills that matter most for defensive handgun use
- Safe, supportive environment where questions are encouraged
This is hands-on, small-group training designed to make you faster, smoother, and more confident with your carry gun. No fluff, no tactics-heavy scenarios—just pure skill development on the fundamentals that matter most in a real defensive encounter. You’ll leave with clearer strengths, a plan to address weak spots, and measurable progress you can feel. Perfect For:
- Concealed carriers wanting smoother, faster presentation and follow-up shots
- Experienced shooters looking to break through plateaus
- Anyone who wants training that respects their time and unique needs
What Students Are Saying
“I’ve taken a lot of pistol classes, but this was the first one that felt like it was designed just for me. The instructor spotted my grip issue in the first 15 minutes and we fixed it by lunch. My groups tightened up dramatically by the end of the day.”
— Mark T., concealed carrier

“As a smaller-statured female shooter, I’ve often felt rushed or overlooked in group classes. Here, everything was adjusted to my size, strength, and pace—no ego, just real help. I finally feel confident with my carry gun.”
— Sarah L.

“Great balance of fundamentals and pushing my limits. I came in thinking I was ‘pretty good’ and left humbled but excited with a clear plan to keep improving. Worth every minute.”
— Jason R., law enforcement officer

“The customization made all the difference. I wanted to focus on drawing from concealment under a jacket, and we spent extra time drilling exactly that. Huge confidence boost.”

Required Materials for Custom Defensive Pistol
To get the most out of your training day, please bring the following items. Everything should be in good working order—we'll inspect gear at the start for safety.
Firearm & Ammunition
- Reliable defensive handgun (semi-auto or revolver; your everyday carry gun is ideal - and preferred!)
- A minimum of 350–400 rounds of quality ammunition (factory new recommended; no reloads for safety reasons)
- At least 3 magazines (or speedloaders for revolvers) – more is better for fewer interruptions
Holster & Support Gear
- Strong-side holster (outside or inside waistband; must securely retain the gun and allow one-handed reholstering) IWB or AIWB allowed
- Sturdy belt or method that supports your holster and mag pouches
- Magazine pouch or carrier (at least 2 magazines accessible)
- Concealment garment (e.g., jacket, vest, or cover shirt) if you plan to practice concealed draws
Protective & Comfort Items
- Electronic ear protection (preferred) or quality ear plugs
- Wrap-around eye protection (clear lenses; must be rated ANSI Z87.1 or higher)
- Billed hat or cap (helps keep hot brass off your head)
- Closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)
- Weather-appropriate clothing (range can be hot/cold; avoid low-cut shirts to prevent brass burns)
- Note-taking materials (pen and notepad or phone for personal notes)
Optional but Recommended
- Snacks, water bottle, etc (we'll have breaks, but stay hydrated)
- Cleaning kit or basic tools (in case of minor issues)
Important Notes
- All gear must meet safety standards—no serpa-style holsters or trigger-exposing designs.
- If renting a firearm or buying ammo on-site, contact us in advance for availability.
- Ammo and gear can be purchased at many ranges if needed—just plan ahead.
This list keeps things focused on skill-building while ensuring a safe, productive day. Questions about your specific setup? Reach out—we're happy to advise!
