Introduction to Organic Vegetable Gardening
Intro to Organic Vegetable Gardening is a hands-on course designed for beginners and for those looking for a helpful refresher. Participants will explore the foundations of organic gardening, including what it truly means to grow organically and how to design and manage a productive kitchen garden. The course will cover setting realistic goals for your garden, basic soil fertility management, and introductory strategies for managing common diseases, pests, and weeds. You’ll also be introduced to both cool-season and warm-season crops, learning when and how to grow them successfully, as well as how to develop a thoughtful plant list and source seeds and plants with confidence.
Participants will take home:
- A personalized garden plant list for the 2026 growing season
- A compost tea starter kit
For participants ages 14 & up (children under 18 must attend with a participating adult).
