Vancouver Lifeguard Association

One-on-one instruction by a qualified Swimming Instructor, certified by the Lifesaving Society. Whether you are learning to swim for the first time, perfecting an advanced technique or anything in between this is a great way for personalized lessons tailored specifically to your age and experience level.

Please include a brief description of your current swimming proficiency or area you would like to work on. The first day will include discussing your goals for the set of private lessons.

Cost: $50/lesson, extra swimmer add-on is $15/lesson. The second swimmer should be the same or similar level. This is both for class safety and to ensure quality of instruction for participants.

Refund policy:

Refunds, credits or transfer requests must be submitted by email (info@vancouverlifeguards.com).

5+ days before the course starts: If a refund request is received a minimum of 5 days prior to the start of the course a full refund will be provided, less a $10 administration fee. If a transfer request is received a minimum of 5 full days prior to the start of the course participants can transfer to a different course date at no cost. Transfer options/availability can be discussed at that time. Future course must be within 6 months of initial course.

Less than 5 full days notice before the start of the course: If a request is received with less than 5 full days prior to the start of the course, participants can transfer to a different course date for an administrative transfer fee equal to HALF (50%) of the course cost. If a course has already begun, a doctor's note is required to transfer to another course for an administrative transfer fee equal to HALF (50%) of the course cost. Course materials (Canadian Lifesaving Manual, Alert Manual) are excluded from the 50% transfer credit amount. No transfers will be permitted once course has completed. No refunds will be permitted within 5 days prior to start of the course.
