Material fee:
- Up to $10 for silk yarn depending on how much the instructor can bring and how much the student uses.
- Fee to be paid to the Instructor in class on the first day of class.
Registration opens at 12:00 pm (noon): Tuesday, August 4th
Registration deadline: Saturday, September 19th
Cancellation deadline: Thursday, September 3rd

Description
Most spinners start out making two-ply yarn or chain plying. This class will:
- Help you make your plied yarn more even.
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of spinning multi-ply yarns.
- Teach a few other plying structures.
- Consider some of the differences between spinning and plying methods and how they affect the potential uses of handspun yarn.
Prerequisites for participants
- Must be able to spin a continuous thread on the wheel that they bring.
Materials to be provided/Additional instructions for students
- Students must bring their own wheel and pre-spun single ply yarn (1 oz. on each of 4 bobbins or wound off onto a storage bobbin or equivalent (not a center pull ball)
- Please bring a lunch or snack if you would like. Access to a refrigerator and microwave are available in the building.
