Royal Lao Classical Dancers – Spring Season Registration

Who We Are
We are the Royal Lao Classical Dancers, a cultural organization dedicated to preserving and upholding Lao heritage through traditional dance. Founded in 1996 by original dancers of the Royal Court of Laos, our group continues their legacy through generations committed to honoring Lao culture with authenticity, respect, and pride.

How We Were Established
Our organization was formed by master dancers who carried their knowledge, artistry, and traditions with them and ensured they would be passed on to future generations. Today, that foundation lives on through our leadership and dancers, who continue to protect and share this cultural legacy.

Spring Season Focus
Spring season coincides with Lao New Year season, a time of celebration and renewal. While performances are an important part of our tradition, this season’s focus will be on building strong foundational skills, technique, and cultural understanding — not just learning choreography. This approach allows dancers to grow with confidence and deepen their connection to the art form.

Season Kickoff & Orientation
Our first practice of the season will be on:
📅 January 25th
⏰ 11:00 AM
📍 Lao Buddhist Temple of Antioch
14131 Old Hickory Blvd, Antioch, TN 37013

This first day will serve as an orientation and community potluck lunch (please bring something to share. A spreadsheet will be sent out once you register), giving everyone the opportunity to get to know one another. We will also:

  • Watch and introduce the dances that will be taught this season
  • Go over expectations and goals
  • Begin with basic movements and fundamentals

Practice Schedule

  • New practice time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • This schedule will remain for the full season, with adjustments made if needed based on the availability of the majority of dancers.

Fees & Practice Location
Season fees will go toward securing and maintaining a new studio space for our practices.

  • Orientation will take place at the Lao Buddhist Temple of Antioch
  • Details regarding the new practice space will be shared after orientation
