Effective compliance in AML/CFT/CFP requires more than understanding the rules. It requires judgement, structured decision-making and the ability to apply regulatory requirements in complex, real-life situations.
This training provides an in-depth, practice-oriented exploration of AML/CFT/CFP compliance, building on foundational knowledge and focusing on application, analysis and professional judgement. Participants deepen their understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing risks, compliance programme design, governance expectations and investigative techniques.
The emphasis is on how compliance works in practice — not just what the rules are.

- Strengthen their understanding of AML/CFT/CFP risks and typologies
- Apply a risk-based approach to Customer Due Diligence and compliance activities
- Gain insight into designing and maintaining an effective compliance work programme
- Understand supervisory expectations, integrity guidelines and governance requirements
- Develop practical skills for financial investigations and interviews
- Enhance their ability to contribute meaningfully to compliance decision-making
Target audience
This training is designed for professionals involved in AML/CFT/CFP compliance, including:
- Compliance Officers and compliance department staff
- Personnel from financial institutions (such as banks, casinos and money transfer businesses)
- Accountants, tax advisers, notaries, lawyers and other professionals from designated non-financial institutions
- Risk, audit and integrity professionals
The training is suitable for participants with foundational AML/CFT/CFP knowledge. Completion of Compliance I: Basics – AML/CFT/CFP Foundation is recommended but not mandatory.
Training content
During this 5 mornings of four-hour training, the following topics will be addressed:
- Money laundering and terrorist financing: current issues and typologies
- Differentiated Customer Due Diligence and the risk-based approach
- Designing and evolving compliance programmes in practice
- The role and responsibilities of the Compliance Officer
- Corporate governance and integrity frameworks, including incident and whistleblowing policies
- Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), corruption risks and the international framework
- Financial investigation techniques
- Reporting obligations and escalation within compliance frameworks
Practical examples and case discussions are used throughout the training to translate theory into application.

The training is interactive and practice-driven. Participants are encouraged to share experiences, discuss challenges and apply concepts to realistic scenarios. The focus is on immediate applicability in professional practice.
