Richmond Young Writers

Come learn about the history of Ekphrasis, or poetry inspired by or in conversation with visual art! Write poems inspired by pieces of visual art that strike you, translate another poem into a comic, and try your hand at both visual and poetic collage! Students will learn some of the tools of the trade for both poetry and comics making, the importance of the juxtaposition between writing and art, and how writing and art in conversation only strengthens both disciplines.
