Wings & Wild Spaces- After School
Have you ever spotted a bird and wondered what species it was or why it was behaving a certain way? Or perhaps you’ve been curious about the bird singing loudly outside your window? In this class, you’ll discover how to identify some of the most common birds in your neighborhood and where to find them. You’ll also learn to recognize familiar bird songs and pick up simple tricks for identifying them in the wild.
As we explore the field and nature trail-rain or shine-you’ll gain skills to better observe and appreciate local birdlife. Along the way, we’ll also talk about how birdwatching connects to conservation: understanding the birds around us helps protect their habitats, supports biodiversity, and fosters a deeper connection to the natural world. Dress for the weather, and get ready to experience your local environment in a new way.
*Dress appropriately for the weather-including footwear and coats.
