AI Literacy for Boards: Risks, Responsibilities and Safe Use (A Compliance Caribbean & TFI Training)

Training overview

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the way organisations operate, make decisions and manage risk. From Generative AI tools and automated decision-making to advanced data analytics, AI is increasingly becoming a strategic business enabler. At the same time, it introduces significant governance, compliance, cybersecurity, privacy and ethical challenges.

Boards and senior management are increasingly expected to understand not only the opportunities presented by AI, but also the risks associated with its use. Regulators, stakeholders and customers expect organisations to implement AI responsibly, transparently and with appropriate oversight.

Effective AI governance is no longer a technology issue alone—it is a boardroom responsibility.

This executive-level training provides Supervisory Board members, Executive Board members and senior executives with a practical understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its implications for governance, risk management and regulatory compliance. The session focuses on the questions boards should be asking, the risks they should be overseeing and the governance frameworks organisations should have in place.

The training is delivered by Benno van Leeuwen, a governance, risk and compliance specialist with more than 28 years of experience advising boards, senior management and regulated institutions throughout the Caribbean. Combining extensive governance expertise with specialised knowledge of AI governance and emerging regulatory expectations, Benno provides practical guidance tailored to the realities faced by directors and executives.

No technical AI knowledge is required.
