You receive the same certification, the same industry‑recognized training, and the same 3‑year validity — with a more efficient, worker‑friendly process.

Cost Information

This renewal includes two separate components, each with its own fee:

• ESC Online Theory – purchased directly from Energy Safety Canada
• SafetyBC Skills Assessment – booked and paid through SafetyBC Kelowna

Your registration clearly shows the fee for the portion you are booking. Both parts must be completed to renew your H₂S Alive certification.

How It Works

• Complete the ESC online theory (H₂S Alive® Blended Renewal).
• You have 90 days to complete your in‑person skills assessment.
• Completing both parts results in a 3‑year ESC H₂S Alive certificate.

Skills Assessment Requirements

To complete the practical evaluation, participants must be able to:

• Don a mask and breathe under air
• Perform rescue drag techniques
• Wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for movement, rescue drills, and SCBA practice
