SafetyBC Kelowna

This blended renewal course shows workers how to work safely in and around Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) environments in a combined approach for renewing H2S safety certifications. It involves online theoretical components followed by an in-person practical skills assessment.

After completing the online portion of the H2S Alive Blended Renewal through Energy Safety Canada, students have 90 days to complete the "skills assessment" at an Authorized Training Provider (ATP). Successful completion of the skills assessment will result in a Certificate of Completion that is valid for three years.

Prerequisites

• Current (not expired) H2S Alive certificate
• Successful completion of ESC Online portion H2S Alive® Blended Renewal | Energy Safety Canada
• ESC Student ID number
• Government-issued picture ID

Skills Assessment:

• Students must be able to put on a mask and breathe under air
• Students must be able to participate in rescue drag techniques
• Students should wear sturdy footwear and clothing compatible with the activity and movement associated with rescue techniques and donning/doffing of an SCBA
