Tea Ceremony with Tal Derhy
Tea & Vinyl
The Quiet Art of Slowing Down, One Bowl at a Time
There is a particular kind of rest that doesn’t come from sleep.
It comes from stillness. From warmth held between two hands. From sound that asks nothing of you. From being in a room where no one is performing, and no one needs to. That is what this morning is.
What is Tea & Vinyl?
Tea & Vinyl is a Cha Dao tea ceremony held in silence, accompanied by ambient vinyl. A meditative gathering where ancient tea ceremony tradition meets analogue sound. Cha Dao, sometimes called the Way of Tea, is a practice rooted in presence. Each bowl is offered and received with intention. The record turns. Time softens. The nervous system, slowly, remembers how to rest.
This is not a workshop. There is nothing to learn and nothing to do. You are simply invited to arrive and to let the tea do what tea has always done.
What to expect
The ceremony runs for 75 minutes in a small, intentionally held group. Tea will be served in silence across multiple rounds, each one an invitation to go a little deeper into stillness. Ambient vinyl plays throughout, not as background noise, but as a living companion to the experience.
You will leave having drunk something far older than the bowl it at came in.
Who is this for?
Anyone feeling overstimulated, curious, or simply longing to pause. No experience of tea ceremony, meditation, or anything else is needed. You do not need to be spiritual, flexible, or well-rested. You only need to be willing to arrive as you are.
