This cohort is for educators who work directly with teachers in a coaching or support role, including teacher leaders (coaches, interventionists, PLC leaders), special educators, and teachers on special assignment (TOSAs).

ALN Cohorts bring together math leaders for sustained professional learning under the guidance of ALN facilitators. Members work together based on the needs and interests of participants and likely will include a variety of the following:

• Build a collaborative network of math educators who promote math equity and inclusion for all students
• Share problems of practice and develop rapid cycles of inquiry to find solutions
• Review assessment results and plan in response
• Collaborate on approaches for helping teachers improve pedagogy
• Read and discuss important math literature
• Address systems issues, such as teacher resistance and structures for supporting professional development
• Develop new coaching tools
• Create systems for more effective Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 instruction using the ALN High Leverage Concepts, HLC Progressions, and formative assessment tools
• Build pedagogical content knowledge by engaging in math tasks, analyzing student work, and sharing and developing resources for district math classrooms.
