Energy Safety Canada – Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Online training for workers entering the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors. This course provides practical, job‑ready safety knowledge that meets Energy Safety Canada requirements and is mandatory for all Suncor‑operated sites.
CSO teaches workers how to recognize hazards, follow safe‑work practices, understand responsibilities, and apply the 10 Life Saving Rules — giving you the foundation needed to work safely, professionally, and in full compliance with industry standards.
Online students have 90 days from the date of purchase to complete the course.

Upon registration, SafetyBC Kelowna will issue you a unique access code and a direct link to the Energy Safety Canada CSO online course.
Course Access & Completion
- Students have 90 days from the date of purchase to complete all course components.
- If course is not completed in this time frame there is no refund issued.
- The CSO certificate does not expire.
- Online course certificates are self‑print and available immediately upon successful completion.
Exam Requirements
- Passing grade: 80%
- Students are given five attempts at the final exam.
- It is strongly recommended to review all course material between attempts.
- If all five attempts are unsuccessful, re‑registration is required and additional fees will apply.
