Make a pair of some of the warmest mittens ever!

Use your scraps of preloved textiles – quilts, blankets, and more!

Karen will have usable scraps available if needed.

What to Expect

    • You'll learn the construction techniques and step-by-step process for creating a pair of lined upcycled mittens from your chosen textile.
    • Most students leave with a completed, ready-to-wear pair of mittens. 
    • Expect clear instruction, helpful guidance, creative inspiration, and plenty of encouragement along the way!

Karen Will Supply

    • An upcycled mitten pattern in one size fits most adults.  Following class, a digital version will be emailed along with Instructions that include lots of photos to view at home.
    • Extra fabric/textiles/scraps if you need.
    • Pre-cut sherpa linings
    • Energy! She will be well caffeinated!
    • Step by step sew-along instructions.
    • Snacks of course!

Please Bring

    • The Sewing Labs has sewing machines to use, but if you prefer your own machine that you are used to, please bring it!
    • Pins, quilt clips
    • Fabric scissors
    • Neutral color thread
    • Denim needles
