CPN Coastal Forum 2026: Plymouth Sound Boat Trip

Forum delegates are invited to join us for an optional arrival-day boat trip around Plymouth Sound aboard SD Padstow, a passenger ship and crew tender.

The trip offers an opportunity to see Plymouth and its coastline from the water while meeting other Forum attendees in an informal setting.

The landing-stage entrance is opposite The Boathouse. Drinks and snacks can also be purchased nearby before boarding.

Accessibility

Please note that the boat is not wheelchair accessible. Passengers must be able to manage steep steps when boarding and moving around the vessel. Some doorways also have raised watertight thresholds.

Comfortable seating is available below deck, but there is no seating on the outside deck. Please consider these arrangements carefully before booking and contact us if you would like to discuss your access needs.

Toilet facilities are available on board.

Weather

The trip is subject to suitable weather and sea conditions. Please bring waterproof clothing in case of wet weather. Registered attendees will be contacted if the arrangements need to change.

Optional swim and evening food

Following the boat trip, attendees will have the option to join an informal swim at a location approximately ten minutes’ walk from the landing stage.

If you would like to take part, please bring your swimwear and a towel. Further information about the swimming location and confirmed timings will be shared with registered attendees.

Afterwards, attendees are welcome to continue socialising over food at a local venue. Details will be provided once arrangements have been finalised.
