Once Upon a Bite
Suitable for ages 3–5 with one parent or caregiver.
Join us at the Cambridge Food Bank for a fun, hands-on introduction to food literacy through stories, food exploration and simple snack-making!
Each session combines beloved children’s stories, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and If You Give a Pig a Pancake, with activities that help little ones explore food in a fun and positive way. Together, children and caregivers will prepare simple, delicious snacks like yogurt parfaits and fresh fruit skewers while learning about different foods, ingredients and basic food skills.
Designed especially for preschoolers, this program encourages curiosity about food, positive food experiences, fine motor skills, creativity and meaningful caregiver-child connections — all in a welcoming and playful environment.
One registered child must be accompanied by one participating parent, grandparent or caregiver.
Please note: This program is designed as a one-on-one caregiver-and-child experience. Registration is for one child and one participating adult. Infants who remain in a stroller or infant carrier are welcome. If you have questions about bringing additional children, please contact the program facilitator before registering.
