What is Precision Rifle 1: Mastering the Fundamentals?
Precision Rifle 1 is a 2-Day class for students of all experience levels who want to build a solid foundation for precision rifle shooting.
Students will be introduced to a wide variety of precision rifle fundamental concepts including rifle scope systems, prone shooting essentials, Milradian/Minute-of-Angle units of measurement, introduction to wind calls/reading, and more.
Students will start with classroom sessions with a quick transition to range time. Range time will consist of fundamental drills and shooting that support classroom concepts. Target engagement will be from 100 yards to 1,000+ yards, depending on the student’s specific weapon system.

How much does the class cost?
- Standard: $750
What are the class’s gear requirements?
- Rifle capable of shooting 2-inch groups or better at 100 yards
- Scope with a MIL or MOA based reticle
- 200 rounds (match grade is highly recommended, but not required)
- Ballistic calculator app on your phone (we recommend Applied Ballistics at $29.99) or a Kestrel
- Bi-pod mounted on your rifle
- Shooting mat
- Sand sock/Pinch bag
- All tools required to manage/adjust your rifle and optic
- Eye and ear protection
- Sunscreen and a hat are optional, but we will spend much time in the sun.
- Drinks and food.
Where is the class being held and what times?
The class is being held at a private property in Escondido, CA (about a thirty-minute drive from San Diego). Training will held from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. The exact address will be sent to registered students.
Can anyone attend the class?
Students must be at least 21 years old, and due to the Department of State ITAR regulations, tactical training is only available to US Citizens/Legal Residents.
What is your cancellation policy?
- Full refund/credit: 61 or more days from the class
- Partial refund/credit (50%): Between 31 and 60 days from the class
- No refund/credit: Within 30 days of the class
- Credit is NOT given for missed classes

Wow what a class. The trainers Hunter and Nick were top notch. They are DEFINITELY Subject Matter Experts. They could explain anything and everything. And most importantly at ALL levels of understanding. They made everyone at every level more confident. As a self taught (books, videos, lessons and watching others) I was able to fill in many gaps of knowledge, add more clarity to what I was doing well and allowed to put it all into practice under their guidance. With that many shooters and systems out there that day I was also able to look at and through many different optics in real life on the range helping me to decide which is better suited for my system. Fun class. Great instructors. Enjoyed the shooting under timed constraints, multiple target engagement and positional shooting portions. Just wish we had more time to get more reps in.
Hunter and Nick are total long range shooting nerds and I absolutely loved it. Learned a lot about my equipment, built confidence in the rifle system, and pushed past distances I’ve never hit before. Would rate 10 out 5 stars if I could. Recommend to anyone who is a novice or an expert!
Hunter and Nick were extremely knowledgeable and facilitated a learning environment that had all of us students still engaged even in 104+ degree weather and unpredictable winds. The course and instructors answered any questions I had regarding setup and trueing of my rifles data, wind calls, or other random questions throughout the course. Ample opportunities were given to both shoot and spot to build these skills up. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to build confidence on their precision rifle, true up their setup for an upcoming hunt, or learn fundamentals in preparation for the competition scene.
