After hundreds of hours of training with firearms instructors from law enforcement to Navy SEALs and US Special Forces and shooting competitively for many years, I thought I knew a lot about shooting.
I was wrong! The longer I trained and the more instructors I met, the less I felt I took away from any class other than some faster draw strokes to first shot or pairs at 7 yards.
This is an entirely other level! I wish I could go back in time and make Tactical Hyve the team I trusted to make me more capable as a shooter. Past classes reinforced the same material over and over with some occasional bias from the instructor based on their particular background; while Myles and his team bring together the best of combat tools with competitive smoothness and a scientific approach to shooting that is proven effective right before your eyes and in your own hands.
They take skills I have learned before and add layers and improvements that never even occurred to me.
The capacity of the instructional team to serve as diagnosticians was the best I have ever encountered, and this is what you should be paying for in a class, not just a guy with a stopwatch.
There was also no “my way or the highway”. Every tactic or improvement was offered with a “try this and see if it works for you or fits your style”. Incredibly refreshing and non-dogmatic.
This is what firearms training SHOULD be. I have already referred other friends to save them the fortune I spent chasing good instruction before I found Tactical Hive. I will be back!
I walked into this class expecting just another routine refresher—something to brush up on the basics. But what I got was far more comprehensive and impactful than I imagined. Tactical Hyve takes firearms training to a whole new level, pushing well beyond the conventional instruction offered by most. From the outset, it was clear that Myles and his team are operating on a different tier. Their approach is not only professional and well-structured but also refreshingly modern and grounded in solid reasoning.
What really stood out was how they don’t just teach the “how” but focus heavily on the “why” behind each technique. That level of insight brings clarity and purpose to everything from grip and stance to more nuanced concepts like natural point of aim. “Cheat Codes” is a game-changer—it breaks down key fundamentals in a way that makes you rethink what you thought you knew, and it sharpens your performance significantly.
If you’re fortunate enough to attend one of these classes, consider it an investment in your skillset and confidence. It’s not just training—it’s an eye-opening experience that will challenge and elevate your shooting in ways you didn’t expect.
This was my first experience with TacticalHyve - and I keep wondering why haven’t I reached out to them earlier.
Cheat codes workshop should be mandatory to any gun owner. Amount of information is immense - yet it neatly packed into digestable pieces, and supplemented with abundance of practice. Instructors on the range are very knowledgeable, respectful and ready to help and correct mistakes.
Myles himself is humble, extremely professional and his way of teaching is very structured. Same goes to everyone on his team.
Students on the workshop had different levels of expertise and different gear - yet all of them had something to learn, mistakes to correct and with the help of TacticalHyve team all of us stepped up our game.
All in all, this workshop has extreme value. I became more collected, smooth and precise with my gun.
Will absolutely recommend to my friends and family.
Thank you!
I highly recommend “Cheat Codes of Shooting”, for anyone interested in improving their technique and gun handling skills. If you want to recover recoil faster and improve accuracy while on the move, after this training you will without doubt reach your next level.
Myles is a Professional Instructor and exceptionally humble in his training approach. He confidently conveys the conceptual techniques and principles to all levels, from beginner to experienced marksmen, everyone gaining a higher confidence and improved marked performance.

What a great workshop. Learned so much from Myles and his assistant instructors. He really made things easy to understand and could demonstrate what he was teaching. Lots of trigger pulls and exploration involved with this class. He really knows his stuff and gives a lot of insight on shooting principles and techniques. I would definitely recommend this class probably not so much for the beginner shooter, but someone who has taken good basic classes and understands how to manipulate one’s tool. Thank you so much guys. I appreciate it.
I recently attended the Cheat Codes of Shooting™ 3-Day Workshop in Richmond, CA, led by instructor Miles at Tactical Hive, and it was an outstanding experience! Miles brought a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the course, making complex shooting techniques accessible through clear instruction and hands-on practice. The focus on learning through shooting and repetition was incredibly effective, helping me build confidence and refine my skills.
Miles was exceptionally helpful, providing personalized attention that made the class feel tailored to each participant’s needs. His ability to break down concepts and offer real-world insights kept everyone engaged and motivated. Despite a minor challenge with the venue, Miles adapted seamlessly, ensuring the training remained top-notch and the experience was both enjoyable and impactful.
I highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to elevate their shooting skills in a supportive, expert-led environment. Tactical Hive and Miles deliver a fantastic, results-driven course! Johann
Highly recommend this course, TacHyve, and Joe as an instructor. This was my first course with these guys and it struck the perfect balance of instruction and execution. Joe was excellent at covering fundamentals and quickly scaling us up into more advanced drills. This helped build my confidence in the basics and get me operating quickly at the next level. A couple things really stood out. First, Joe explained his techniques and drills with practical context and a real philosophy. This made me feel like I learned a skill, and the why behind it and how I can practice and extend that on my own. Second, while we learned a lot, we quickly got to the fun part (putting it into practice). I don’t mind the classroom side of these courses, but its admittedly my least favorite part. Joe moved us efficiently through that and let us get out and practice. Third, there was the right balance of hands on coaching and also letting us just get out and practice what we learned. Throughout, I felt this was a high quality, safe, and beneficial experience.
Great class! I really improved both my handgun and rifle shooting and was able to see noticeable improve by the end of day two. Thanks to all the instructors who helped make the possible.
Very well structured class. Particularly liked how each fundamental was broken down into easily understandable components. Very much recommend this class to beginner and intermediate shooters. In the end, I highly recommend this class for everyone. !
We were blessed with Joe Farewell as our instructor, he was able to show in real time to correct some of the major bad habits many shooters have and were able to give some drills and tips on how to really test and challenge ourselves to become better shooters. I’ve taken this class before but yet was able to learn something new and some concepts that give you the lightbulb understanding to improve your game. These classes are so jam packed of value it really gives you a lot of material that you can take home with you and practice. Phenomenal class. If you put in your end of work, the class is worth every penny.
Todd ran an excellent class. This was my first time attending any type of formal firearms class and the bar has been set high for any other classes I’ll be taking in the future. Really enjoyed myself and saw marked improvement by the end of the day.
Great class! I thoroughly enjoy the instructors; how they were able to breakdown, well re-breakdown fundamentals - and basically unlearn all the years of “old school” norms and basically revitalize teaching methods for shooters. I would highly recommend this class and the instructors Miles and Josh. Amazing.
Josh and Myles are great! I learned a lot of principles and the day was jampacked with learning and fun. I would definitely go back for other courses.
Exceptional course for beginning and intermediate shooters. Emphasis on the fundamentals and how they lead to accuracy and speed is a great way to improve your shooting.
Todd Stephen and Dan were amazing instructors I learned a lot and have a ton of homework to do
Great course! Breaks down the fundamentals into easy to follow and understand steps. Each step building on the previous. Todd, Steven and Dan did a phenomenal job explaining each step, and providing the principals of why, while guiding each student in development of their own techniques.
The class was really well structured. I really like how everything was very much broken down. As a female shooter, I feel like a lot of classes don’t break down how important the stance is. And that has been a week point for me so I think a lot of my week points were addressed as part of the class, not as part of me and that has been lacking in all of the training that I’ve taken. I would very much recommend this for women because I feel like a lot of the physical awareness. You need to have to shoot properly then just have natural naturally. I think this class addressed a lot of of my weaknesses. I really hope you guys come back. Also, I know one of you gentlemen live in the area. I would love to contact that individual for follow up training. Thank you so much. I am waiting for your digital print out of the class so I can continue to train independently until I can return to formal training either with you guys again or that individual who is in the area. Great class loved it.
I am generally very skeptical of classes like these. That being said, it was an OUTSTANDING class. Myles and Josh are the best shooting instructors that I have ever had the pleasure learning from. The information provided and the lessons taught were so good that I wouldn’t hesitate to take this same class again. Worth every penny spent. I will definitely be taking another class from Tactical Hyve again.
Ive been shooting for a while, but felt like I needed more. This class breaks down shooting clearly and helped me take my shooting to another level. I was very happy with the class and will absolutely be taking the Second class. Excellent instruction and Training. Thank you Miles and Josh. Truly superb.
Excellent training and some very professional instruction. Top level Instructors with plenty of practical knowledge. Will definitely continue to train with Tactical Hyve.
Instructors were great.
Tactical Hyve asks students to arrive with an unloaded gun. But consider the student who intends to train with the gun he carries. In order to comply, he would either carry an empty gun from home, or arrive at the range with his gun loaded, in the holster. In this latter case, he would need to unload in his vehicle. That seems less safe than doing an administrative unload with the whole class at the firing line.
Very good class, really helped me on the first day to diagnose my issues with grouping and consistency on the target. The other two days were extremely helpful in advancing my technique and developing some new concepts that I have never learned. Miles Vives was the instructor and he was really good at teaching and helping improve skills. I would definitely do it again.
Second class for me and well worth it. I plan to attend at least one a year.
Dorr, Brock, and Brighton ran an excellent class and offered a great deal of one-on-one coaching. Really enjoyed everything and will be looking to attend additional classes in the near future. Please extend my thanks to them as well.
The training material and instructors were great. The material was relevant to CCW holders in real-life situations. The instructors were fun and made the material enjoyable to intake.
I plan to take other courses in the future.
Excellent fundamentals class. Ideal for new shooters, but even as a more experienced shooter there were clearly some things I needed to touch up. The instructors did an excellent job and kept a good pace.
