After hundreds of hours of training with firearms instructors from law enforcement to Navy SEALs and US Special Forces and shooting competitively for many years, I thought I knew a lot about shooting.
I was wrong! The longer I trained and the more instructors I met, the less I felt I took away from any class other than some faster draw strokes to first shot or pairs at 7 yards.
This is an entirely other level! I wish I could go back in time and make Tactical Hyve the team I trusted to make me more capable as a shooter. Past classes reinforced the same material over and over with some occasional bias from the instructor based on their particular background; while Myles and his team bring together the best of combat tools with competitive smoothness and a scientific approach to shooting that is proven effective right before your eyes and in your own hands.
They take skills I have learned before and add layers and improvements that never even occurred to me.
The capacity of the instructional team to serve as diagnosticians was the best I have ever encountered, and this is what you should be paying for in a class, not just a guy with a stopwatch.
There was also no “my way or the highway”. Every tactic or improvement was offered with a “try this and see if it works for you or fits your style”. Incredibly refreshing and non-dogmatic.
This is what firearms training SHOULD be. I have already referred other friends to save them the fortune I spent chasing good instruction before I found Tactical Hive. I will be back!
This was my first experience with TacticalHyve - and I keep wondering why haven’t I reached out to them earlier.
Cheat codes workshop should be mandatory to any gun owner. Amount of information is immense - yet it neatly packed into digestable pieces, and supplemented with abundance of practice. Instructors on the range are very knowledgeable, respectful and ready to help and correct mistakes.
Myles himself is humble, extremely professional and his way of teaching is very structured. Same goes to everyone on his team.
Students on the workshop had different levels of expertise and different gear - yet all of them had something to learn, mistakes to correct and with the help of TacticalHyve team all of us stepped up our game.
All in all, this workshop has extreme value. I became more collected, smooth and precise with my gun.

What a great workshop. Learned so much from Myles and his assistant instructors. He really made things easy to understand and could demonstrate what he was teaching. Lots of trigger pulls and exploration involved with this class. He really knows his stuff and gives a lot of insight on shooting principles and techniques. I would definitely recommend this class probably not so much for the beginner shooter, but someone who has taken good basic classes and understands how to manipulate one’s tool. Dorr teaches REAL LIFE tactical applications. Thorough and relevant, this is the most comprehensive gun fighting course I’ve taken. Far more useful training than the military / Law enforcement firearms training I’ve completed in the past. Want a challenge? Sign up!
Dorr is spot on. Lots of good information and very helpful in class. Extremely personable. By far one of the best instructors I have had. Two issue which have nothing to do with the instructor. People showing up late. It cuts into the time the rest of us paid for. I am there to learn not wait on people that cannot make it on time. People showing up with rifles not zeroed. This puts the instructor in a hard position because he cannot give constructive feedback, so he is left with no choice but to zero rifles which was time consuming. A few others and I zeroed or rifles ahead of time and this becomes problematic when we have to wait for the ones that did not. Emphasis on this was not Dorr’s fault. Not sure how you would correct those two issues. With the Zero issue maybe let them shoot what they have the way they have it or send them to a separate part of the range to zero and come back.

The course was a fantastic introduction to tactical pistol / carbine use. Concentration on the basics of proper weapon handling, stance, and target engagement is both a great foundation for follow-on courses, and a refresher for those who haven’t fired for a while. The instructor was obviously a subject matter expert, but taught in a matter easily understood by all. Our class consisted of law enforcement, seasoned shooters, down to beginners. I believe all felt welcomed, and all left with new / improved skills. My competence and confidence have improved due to this course, and I’m looking forward to attending pistol / carbine 2 in the near future. I would highly recommend Tactical Hyve for your training needs.
Outstanding class! The instructors were professional, patient, and jovial. Everything they asked us to do was first demonstrated with expert proficiency. Each student was given valuable feedback throughout the day to make the small necessary corrections. The class was rooted in fundamental principles and not fancy techniques. The instructors delivered a metric ton of information but I never felt overwhelmed or rushed. By the culmination of class I had quantifiable improvements and the framework to take those fundamentals home and continue to improve my shooting. My only complaint is that the class wasn’t longer.
Excellent. Myles, you and Chris were excellent not only with me but adapting to each shooter in the class. There was a range of experience in our group and you both met the needs of all of the shooters. You definitely highlighted areas that I need to train on and enhanced my understanding of the fundamentals. Between the analogies to explain the theory to the practical application for each segment I would recommend the class to anyone.
Chad was an awesome instructor. His AI’s were solid and all worked well together.

Somewhat overwhelming for an experienced newby, with emphasis on future training and practice which falls on the class participants to follow thru on.With the training we received, I personally feel confident that I can, with practice, become basically a good, SAFE and CONFIDENT shooter!!

Chad, Matt, and Eddie did a great job teaching tips and tricks to shoot faster without losing accuracy. The class moved at a logical pace with building blocks to increase speed.
Cheat Codes is a must for any shooter. Absolutely loved the course and Myles and Chris were great instructors.
Excellent training course. Been shooting for years but several of my techniques were wrong, and timing and accuracy were off as a result. The class taught some excellent foundational techniques that will help me with proper stance, grip, trigger management, recoil management and sooness on target. The instructors explained each technique so we understood the what and how, demonstrated each, then we all practiced each including live fire. Five stars. Well worth the money and highly recommend for anyone beyond an initial beginner through even more advanced shooters. Great (and patient) instructors.

The instructor and Chris were very helpful. Chris especially gave me good corrections with lots of patience and no undue pressure.
When I was younger I was a competitive pistol shooter but walked away from the sport because “life and family” happened. After several years away from the sport I retired kids grew up and had families of their own and I got the fever to shoot again. My goal coming into this training chad and his crew offered was to knock the rust off. The helped bring back muscle memory that I completely lost due to inactivity. Between when we started to where we ended was night and day. I started to remember,’still have a long wa to go to get back to even a shadow of my former self. But this class was a great first step, Chad and his crew offered 3 offered a very structured and safe environment to improve in all aspects of your shooting capabilities. They taught in a way that not only helped you with your shooting but they made it fun as well. They never talked “down” to you but pointed out areas you need to improve on. We had shooters of all capabilities and they taught all in the same manner, with honest and open dialogue. I will continue to stay in contact with them will continue to take classes and try to improve. I highly recommend Chad to anyone who wants to get better.

It was my very first class of this type and I have to say I was not disappointed. For The two days I was there, Sonny and Dor put on an incredible display of knowledge, safety, an experience which allowed me could not only gain more confidence handling both a pistol and rifle, but how to prepare myself for any future confrontation that may arise. Looking forward to the next class.
Of all the money I’ve spent on this hobby/sport already, this workshop is by far the most important and valuable investment. No attachment, part, or YouTube video can fix a problem or produce optimal results like proper training can. This course exceeds what the term “proper training” actually means. I have never taken a course (regardless of subject matter) as well thought out, detailed but digestible, eye opening, enjoyable and well executed as this. I highly recommend this course regardless of what stage you are as a shooter. In our class we had individuals of all levels, and as we went through the long hot and tiring days we all talked amongst ourselves how much we were gaining from being here.
Aside from the course and concepts, Myles and his teammates Steve and Jon were absolutely incredible instructors and teachers (and badasses behind the trigger). I separate the terms to describe them because not only did they show us the what or how to do, they effectively taught us the reason why; identify where we as an individual could improve, and broke it down in a way each of us could understand. They were extremely patient and accommodating with us, and you can see and feel the passion they have in their work and craft.
Every training I attend with Tactical Hyve is both a reinforcement to my bedrock skills and their supercharger. All the instructors are very knowledgeable, approachable and happy to help. It’s always a pleasure attending these trainings, and for sure I’ll attend them more.
