After hundreds of hours of training with firearms instructors from law enforcement to Navy SEALs and US Special Forces and shooting competitively for many years, I thought I knew a lot about shooting.
I was wrong! The longer I trained and the more instructors I met, the less I felt I took away from any class other than some faster draw strokes to first shot or pairs at 7 yards.
This is an entirely other level! I wish I could go back in time and make Tactical Hyve the team I trusted to make me more capable as a shooter. Past classes reinforced the same material over and over with some occasional bias from the instructor based on their particular background; while Myles and his team bring together the best of combat tools with competitive smoothness and a scientific approach to shooting that is proven effective right before your eyes and in your own hands.
They take skills I have learned before and add layers and improvements that never even occurred to me.
The capacity of the instructional team to serve as diagnosticians was the best I have ever encountered, and this is what you should be paying for in a class, not just a guy with a stopwatch.
There was also no “my way or the highway”. Every tactic or improvement was offered with a “try this and see if it works for you or fits your style”. Incredibly refreshing and non-dogmatic.
This is what firearms training SHOULD be. I have already referred other friends to save them the fortune I spent chasing good instruction before I found Tactical Hive. I will be back!
I walked into this class expecting just another routine refresher—something to brush up on the basics. But what I got was far more comprehensive and impactful than I imagined. Tactical Hyve takes firearms training to a whole new level, pushing well beyond the conventional instruction offered by most. From the outset, it was clear that Myles and his team are operating on a different tier. Their approach is not only professional and well-structured but also refreshingly modern and grounded in solid reasoning.
What really stood out was how they don’t just teach the “how” but focus heavily on the “why” behind each technique. That level of insight brings clarity and purpose to everything from grip and stance to more nuanced concepts like natural point of aim. “Cheat Codes” is a game-changer—it breaks down key fundamentals in a way that makes you rethink what you thought you knew, and it sharpens your performance significantly.
If you’re fortunate enough to attend one of these classes, consider it an investment in your skillset and confidence. It’s not just training—it’s an eye-opening experience that will challenge and elevate your shooting in ways you didn’t expect.
Far exceeded my expectations. Myles is uniquely gifted in conveying foundational concepts and their implementation into advanced techniques. He designed and presents his curriculum in a practical manner giving you an understanding of how and what you need to train to achieve your goals. The insights and training techniques you learn come from the knowledge of top tier shooters and countless rounds down range. I was particularly blown away by one specific part on the use of vision and target transitions that actually had you feel and understand leading with the eyes the right way. That alone, made this program totally worth it to me. There is so much more valuable information that I hope to do the program again once I train some of the techniques presented and need to reevaluate my progress.
I highly recommend this course to most shooters but think you would get the most benefit once you have good basic skills and are familiar with gun handling. I also recommend you use a full size gun you are familiar with and bring good basic belt and holster setup. Not so much for conceal carry but a setup that is reliable and easy to draw and holster safely.
Thank you Myles and Tactical Hyve for an excellent experience. I look forward to training with the tools and techniques you have given to me.

I highly recommend “Cheat Codes of Shooting”, for anyone interested in improving their technique and gun handling skills. If you want to recover recoil faster and improve accuracy while on the move, after this training you will without doubt reach your next level.
Myles is a Professional Instructor and exceptionally humble in his training approach. He confidently conveys the conceptual techniques and principles to all levels, from beginner to experienced marksmen, everyone gaining a higher confidence and improved marked performance.

What a great workshop. Learned so much from Myles and his assistant instructors. He really made things easy to understand and could demonstrate what he was teaching. Lots of trigger pulls and exploration involved with this class. He really knows his stuff and gives a lot of insight on shooting principles and techniques. I would definitely recommend this class probably not so much for the beginner shooter, but someone who has taken good basic classes and understands how to manipulate one’s tool. Thank you so much guys. I appreciate it.
I recently attended the Cheat Codes of Shooting™ 3-Day Workshop in Richmond, CA, led by instructor Miles at Tactical Hive, and it was an outstanding experience! Miles brought a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the course, making complex shooting techniques accessible through clear instruction and hands-on practice. The focus on learning through shooting and repetition was incredibly effective, helping me build confidence and refine my skills.
Miles was exceptionally helpful, providing personalized attention that made the class feel tailored to each participant’s needs. His ability to break down concepts and offer real-world insights kept everyone engaged and motivated. Despite a minor challenge with the venue, Miles adapted seamlessly, ensuring the training remained top-notch and the experience was both enjoyable and impactful.
I highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to elevate their shooting skills in a supportive, expert-led environment. Tactical Hive and Miles deliver a fantastic, results-driven course! Johann
These guys are the real deal! I’ve struggled so much with misinformation, and always doubted my instincts due to false info and because of this course I regained my confidence on DIAGNOSING my shot. I learned proper fundamentals to adjust the personal side of my shots, and path to actual improvements. Shooting is a very personal thing, there’s no hacks to improving your shot, these guys will help you figure your necessary personal touches to get things done correctly and improve your shots.
I’m a repetition learner, and I was able to get better just from the course. I seen quick learners taking the course with me go from large groupings to 1-2in groupings.
Worth every penny, the instructors have my highest respect and gratitude for teaching me so much.
This was by far the best handgun training course I’ve had to date. The courses was very informative and presented in a way that allowed for me to obtain principles, techniques and practical drills to practice on my own. Miles is an awesome instructor/teacher! I would recommend the “Cheat Codes” course to anyone who’s really serious about taking their shooting skills to the next level. The Lone Star Shooting Gun Range was the perfect range to host the course!
In my opinion successful training is about 4 main items, effective knowledge transfer, instructor(s) likeability, increased levels of challenge and having fun. Miles hit all 4. I was impressed by the content related to body anatomy when it comes to shooting with precision and speed, The tempo of the workshop was very good, and it was 3 days of constant learning and improvement. At the time I took the last stage I appreciated the personal advice Miles gave me. Now I have a good amount of fundamentals to work on improving on my own. Recommend to those who want to be challenged, learn and have fun at the same time. ADL
The amount of information covered was amazing! It was an intense 3 days (mentally exhausting) but well worth it to be able to continuously build on all the previous material covered since each day built on the previous. I would highly recommend this class to anyone serious about improving their skills, but this is not a beginner class. You will get more out of the class if you taken other classes and are at an intermediate skill level. However, the best part was Myles ability to not only be an expert in all of the skills but to be able to teach the information in a straight forward and easy to understand manner. I’ve had lots of training with instructors who know the skills but are not good teachers. You can tell Myles has put a lot of time and effort into the curriculum and how everything flows. I would defiantly take it again.
Draw, aim and shoot doesn’t even cover what this 3 day training provides… I highly recommend this class to any ladies looking to become familiar with some basic firearm skills or take your skills to the next level.
Myles and his team are Pro’s and all the practical knowledge you take away will help me as I train on my own. I learned what I didn’t know and what I didn’t know I didn’t know which was a lot!! Not once did the team make me feel stupid or inadequate for my lack of experience and since I was the only female in the group I knew I would be dealing with a bunch of guys that had more firearm exp than myself.
The class was structured daily with specific training exercises that are designed to help you improve as you move on from day one to three, definitely value for the money. I appreciated how efficient they were as well, they started on time, made use of every minute available provide instruction. I will definitely be taking another class once I’ve had some time to absorb this training and give myself the best opportunity to improve.. let’s go ladies, we can’t let the boys be the only ones out there 🔥💪🏼
I’ve been a range plinker for a decade. I thought i was getting pretty good. I mean, I can hit a static paper target with as much time as I need to aim pretty well. Hell, I got the shoot and see stickers to show I can punch holes at an indoor range pretty well. I EVEN started to plink around with some bolt action rifles and all. I MUST know a lot about shooting.
NO.
Basically, I figured out i’ve been in “driver’s ed” for the last decade. Myles and the team at Tactical Hyve finally pulled me from this basic mentality and introduced me to my first “track day”…. and crap, looks like I wasted many years just learning how to start my car and drive around a parking lot, over and over again.
My experience with Cheat Codes of Shooting was a jump head first crash course into what I SHOULD have been practicing this last decade. I was one of the least proficient shooters, but I never felt as though the class and the instructors were beyond reach, they took the time to show you how to get better. It’s not a hyperbole to say I learned more about shooting and what I need to practice and understand in these short three sessions than the last decade of plinking around.
How much did I love this course? I am taking it again less than six months later, this time, with more than just some “drivers ed experience”.
The team themselves were great people. I am not the typical student, not a LEO, not ex military, not a 5’11” fire fighter white dude. I’m a middle age 5’ 5” Asian American that grew up in San Francisco, trying to get better at some hobbies I enjoyed when i was younger. The TH team made me feel welcomed and took the time to explain things a bit more to a less proficient shooter like myself. Myles took the time to hold my hand through finding a more appropriate handgun platform to use. (using the car analogy again, I was just picking random shiny flashy handguns, like oooh, look, an expensive sports cars, lets buy it, rather than, this is a spec miata, learn on this first).
BOTTOM LINE, great people, great subject matters covered, easily recommend this course to the (past beginner) novice to shooters that just want to pick up skills to shoot faster and more accurately.
I have taken 29 pistol classes so far and this one was my favorite. It was definitely what I was looking for. The time was well spent on subjects I had never been exposed to before. Entering the box, establishing stance which puts you at you natural point of aim among many more. Miles was very detailed in his explanations and Steve and Larry shared their knowledge as well and were very personable. Thanks fellas for a great class.
I attended the 3-day Tactical Hive course this weekend, and it exceeded my expectations. The event, led by Miles and his team, delivered immediate improvements from day one and continued to build momentum each day through hands-on action, real-world insights, and expert instruction.
What stood out most was how practical and approachable the training was. The team worked closely with us throughout the event, helping fine-tune details and techniques that resulted in more credible, accurate shots and a clear improvement in overall performance. Each day built intentionally on the previous one, reinforcing skills while introducing new concepts at exactly the right pace.
The instruction, feedback, and environment made this training highly effective and confidence-building. I left with measurable progress, actionable takeaways, and a strong desire to continue developing these skills.
I will absolutely be signing up for the next Tactical Hive event in Arizona and would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for professional, results-driven training.
Myles, Steve and Larry are amazing patient instructors that truly know their stuff. They catered to the students and modified the information and teaching as needed. I highly recommend this course to anyone who definitely wants to learn the basics and learn the nitty gritty of more advanced techniques. Great course and great time.
Great classes. Learned a solid foundation to build off of. Would like to take a follow up course that builds off the fundamentals that were learned yesterday. Very happy with Mike and his crew. They were fun and also serious about making sure we were learning the concepts
I learned things today I did not know existed. The range officers are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and go the extra mile to help you understand the principles being taught. Absolutely a must take course for everyone.
I never would have believed that the basics of shooting—stance, grip, trigger control, sighting—could have so many facets. The explanation was interesting and thorough. I liked the attention given to the underlying principles involved in each basic area. The drills assigned helped to put the theory in practice.
They said at the start of class that the training would advance my skills by years. I thought it was hyperbole. It wasn’t. At the end of the day I was stacking bullets on top each other and had reduced my Bill drill time by over 1 second. I’ve never improved more in a single day at anything. This course is fantastic!
I am absolutely delighted with the exceptional training I received during the two-day Tactical High Force on Force class held in Lakeland this past weekend.
The entire training experience was truly exceptional. From start to finish, the course was structured perfectly and delivered immense value. The instructors were not only highly knowledgeable in all aspects of tactical application and firearms instruction, but they were also incredibly professional and engaging. Their ability to convey complex information in a clear and practical manner made the learning process highly effective.
The information and hands-on training I received were profoundly beneficial, significantly enhancing my skill set and situational awareness. This course is a powerful tool for anyone serious about defensive preparedness.
I would strongly recommend the Force on Force and Tactical Hive training programs to anyone seeking top-tier firearms instruction. It is clear that the team at Tactical Hive is dedicated to providing the highest quality training available.
Thank you for everything you do to keep the community safe and well-trained. I wish everyone at Tactical Hive a very Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas!
Excellent class!! The Training team was very professional and extremely knowledgeable on all topics. I learned a lot of different techniques that I hope to use daily and in training. The class was fun and informative. Looking forward to the next class.
I had big improvements across the board. The live fire drills were really effective. The gradient approach built on each drill. Brock was very helpful and Dorr know his stuff and was very engaging. The Valortec guy seemed to disrupt the flow of things but that improved on day 2’s Force on Force training. Overall, awesome! The bruises and welts were all worth it.
Very well executed class. I’m an advanced level shooter and NRA instructor, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this course. Dorr, Broc, and Herfel did an excellent job identifying the finer details of grip, stance, trigger pull, and defeating the garment. They pointed out things that may not seem important but can easily elevate your shooting skill throughout the entire class.
The live scenarios and SIM exercises were extremely realistic and brought many things into perspective that you wouldn’t normally think about, such as point of aim shooting and the importance of distance and cover. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to elevate their shooting abilities. Come in humble and with an open mind, and you will enjoy every minute.
Thanks again to these great and highly experienced instructors, Dorr, Broc, and Herfel. 🙏
Absolutely recommend… I learned what I was taught incorrectly (a ton), where and how I can immediately improve, how to set a plan for long term skill development, and saw an immediate ability increase after each day. I will definitely take this course again in a year or two to check my progression - there’s enough information and skills checks provided to keep a motivated shooter busy for years!
This was well worth the money. Bert and Nate did a fine job of instructing. Even though I felt completely lost at times, Nate always slowed it down and explained it to me. I was able to accomplish my goal of hitting my target at 1000 yards with my .308
Would definitely do this again and recommend it to others.
Bert and Nate were amazing instructors. They come with both the expertise and a true love of what they do. They took the time to answer all questions and kept the learning environment light fun and engaging even when I got to difficult topics like what the hell is a gun number and how to calculate wind calls. I would without hesitation recommend this class to anyone wanting to get into PRS.
Great course made possible by instructor Bert! He explained everything so everyone could understand and this we shoot on the range further than I ever thought possible. Looking for to the next class!
Great class, learned a ton of information. One of the best classes I’ve taken. Bert and Nate two of the best. Would take any class with these guys as teachers.
Great class with a wide variety and range of targets. Bert and Nate were both very knowledgeable and excited to be there teaching.
