Basic Nib Care & Tuning Workshop (Scriptus 2026) - Learn Basic Nib Work yourself from beginner
Do you want to learn how to diagnose and smooth problem nibs? Learn how to fix simple problems and decide when to seek professional help. Learn from Sunny Koh, a Singapore-based practicing nib worker trained by Richard Binder (2013) and Nathan Tardif (2015), co-founder of Straits Pen LLP.
No prior nib-working knowledge is needed—you just need to know fountain pen basics.

- Understand the perfect nib geometry
- Testing the pen ink flow using Japanese techniques
- Tine alignment and flow adjustment
- Nib smoothing using the Binderize Method
Materials Provided: Students will receive a Jewellery Loupe (30X, 7X Real), a sample vial of Ink, Micromesh/Lapping Film, two pilot-style steel nibs (one misaligned), and a WingSung 3001A Pen.
