Curious about firearms, but not sure where to begin? Looking for a safe, welcoming way to introduce your family to shooting sports?

Fall Family Fun Day at Cohutta Pines is designed to make that first experience easy, comfortable, and fun.

This free community event is open to adults and families of all experience levels—including those who have never handled or fired a gun before. You do not need to own a firearm, bring ammunition, or arrive with any prior knowledge. We will provide the firearms, ammunition, instruction, and supervision you need to participate.

All firearms used during the event will be chambered in .22 LR, giving participants the opportunity to learn with equipment that is approachable and well suited for introductory training.

We’ll begin the morning inside the Event Center with a free workshop focused on safety, familiarization, and what to expect before anyone heads to the range.

From there, participants can experience several guided range activities, including:

• A basic pistol course
• A basic rifle course
• An introductory stage demonstrating what our Defensive Pistol Skills League is all about

The focus throughout the day is not competition or pressure. It is learning, trying something new, asking questions, and enjoying the experience at your own pace.

Whether you are a parent looking for a responsible introduction for your family, a woman who has been curious about firearms but unsure where to start, or simply someone who wants to better understand the shooting sports, you are welcome here.

A $5 lunch plate will also be available during the event.
