The Network

Please join Chicago Street Medicine and The Network as we provide an interactive hour of discussing scenarios of gender-based violence that may occur or have occurred on street runs.

This training is intended for those that have already taken the Gender-based Violence: Understanding the Intersections 2-hour session. However, this will be beneficial to any medical students and providers to help grow a better understanding of how to support survivors.

We will discuss topics such as:

• Practical strategies for engaging with patients experiencing violence in the street setting
• Do's and Don'ts when you suspect abuse or harm
• Considerations when dealing with law enforcement, immigration status, minors, and other vulnerable populations.
